I've been wanting (needing) to break up with my boyfriend for a few months, but he's so sweet I couldn't stand to do it. But the relationship wasn't working for me-- I couldn't talk about God with him, he was jealous, and I was suppressing feelings for another guy-- and so I finally grew a spine and broke it off. The thing is... I feel oddly relieved. For no reason-- except that I have OCD tendancies and have to view the pros and cons of EVERYTHING-- I made a list.
Pros: I'm FREE. Now I have a heavy weight lifted off my chest and can stop lying to myself, both about my ex and my beloved (who said yes when a girl asked him out the same day I broke up with my ex! My life is ruled by irony... TT^TT). x3
Cons: He's hurt, and it'll take a long time before we can be friends again, if at all (hopefully that works out). Also, these two creepy guys that follow me flirting and dodging my backpalms whenever either of them say something inappropriate or put their arms around me will be turning up the power whenever they find out, but I can handle 'em... with THIS baby! *holds up pinky nail which I have resisted biting off* Oh yeah. Don't touch me-- you may get this in the eye! *laugh*
But I'm relieved and pretty peaceful. It was for the best. ^-^

Good for you! I just broke up with a boyfriend as well, and I must say that I also feel strangely free. I hope that things work out for you.

ahhh i had to do something like that earlier this year. it kind of sucked

and i'm still not friends with him again so its all pretty awkward...
anyways, congratulations on getting out of the non-successful relationship

I'll be honest, I'm not a god person, never will be so I probably won't understand why you'd brake up with your boyfriend over something like this...

However I will say this;

If he said yes to another girl the same day as you dumped him.... then he's a jerk and isn't worth it anyway D: You deserve someone better.

From experience, guys are really stupid, idiots that don't deserve any love from the nice gal's... they can burn in an abyss somewhere and then rot.

Find someone who you can connect with and be happy in your choice, coz you deserve it.

It's good you decided to not lie to yourself anymore.
Freedom is a nice thing and you should embrace it.
No one can stop you from that.

And about him being hurt: Time heals.
It'll take some time. But he'll get over it.
